Gerhard Robbertse MB ChB (Pretoria): PDD (Sedation and Pain Control) (Stellenbosch)
Dr Gerhard Robbertse qualified as a medical doctor from the University of Pretoria (South Africa) in 1976. After rotating in various disciplines in hospital practice, he started a GP practice in 1980 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He has special interest in paediatric anaesthesia. In 2003 he completed a post graduate diploma in Sedation and Pain Control. During 2005 he relocated to the UK where he works with Conscious Sedation on a full time basis.
Gerhard is married to Sonja and they have two children. He is a keen cyclist and enjoys photography, skiing and reading as hobbies. Gerhard joined the Flagstaff team in 2005 and is totally dedicated to their mission and ethos.

Dr Joe de Lange (MBChB Pret.), sedationist
Dr Joe was born in South Africa, where he grew up and finished school. He studied medicine at the University of Pretoria, where he graduated in 1996. He worked as a GP in South Africa until he moved to England in 1998.
Since moving to England, he worked at numerous A&E departments, where he developed an interest in pain management. He studied Sedation and Pain management at the University College London, and the Eastman’s Dental College. He has been working at Flagstaff (and numerous other Anaesthetic clinics throughout the south of England) for the last 7 years.
Joe lives in London and is involved with a few Charity Organisations for whom he has done some relief work in Rwanda and in the Ukraine. He loves travel and has travelled all over the world in the last few years.

Dr V N Natarajan MBBS FFARCS, sedationist
Dr Natarajan qualified as a doctor from the University of Madras India in 1977. He trained as an anaesthetist initially in Madras and then in South Africa at the University of Natal in Durban. He moved to Paris to work as an anaesthetist at the Hopital Necker. Dr Raj came to the UK in 1988 as a registrar in anaesthetics at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. He later moved to London with posts at The Whittington, Royal Free and St Georges hospitals gaining his fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 1994. Dr Raj is senior anaesthetist at the Princess Alexander Hospital Harlow and is experienced in all forms of anaesthetics and sedation techniques, he has attended courses in both advanced and paediatric life support he is on call for the hospitals anaesthetic emergencies and is familiar with acute resuscitation. Dr Raj has worked with us at Flagstaff since 1996 and is a well respected member of our team.
